He studied Law at Southern Cross University in Queensland, Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University, Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution, Notarial Training course at the College of Law, Wills & Estates component at Bond University and the International Family Law at the University of Southern Queensland.
He has practiced Family Law during his entire career.

Kerry Aguilar

Senior Associate Team Leader, Family Law Practice

Kerry graduated from Murdoch University (WA) with a Bachelor of Laws. Whilst completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, she experienced the diverse work environments of commercial and family law. Kerry’s deep passion for family law stems from her desire to serve and support people. In her spare time, Kerry loves spending time with her family, being outdoors and making memories with loved ones.

Jana Schik

Solicitor, Family Law Practice

Jana studied a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of International Business from Griffith University. Jana commenced with Genuine Legal as a Paralegal in 2018 and was admitted as a Solicitor in 2019. Since being admitted as a Solicitor, Jana has worked in Family Law and Migration Law. Jana has a keen interest in International Family Law matters and is fluent in Russian, German and English.

Samuel Warren

Solicitor, Family Law Practice

Samuel has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology. He is currently undertaking a Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) at the College of Law. Samuel practices exclusively in Family Law and started his work at a Community Legal Centre before continuing his role within a private family law firm, which allowed him to dedicate his focus and passion in Family Law.

Claire Sherwood

Solicitor, Family Law Practice

Claire graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University and subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Queensland University of Technology. She was admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2023. Claire has been employed with Genuine Legal since mid-2023 and is a Family Law Solicitor.

Tia-Bree Evans

Solicitor, Family Law Practice

Tia-Bree graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Southern Queensland, completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland. Tia-Bree started her legal career doing administration at an international law firm, before transitioning to a paralegal position in the area of succession. She now practices family law at Genuine Legal.

Tara Lunnon

Tara graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations.
She has completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and is currently completing a Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) with the College of Law. She has previously worked for the Queensland Department of Education and for a boutique family law firm.

Jessica Carroll

Jessica graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Queensland University of Technology. Admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, she has worked in Civil Litigation and volunteered in Family Law, which inspired her shift to this field. Outside work, Jessica enjoys family time, beach walks with her dogs.

Jason Goebel

On completing degrees in Education specialising in Science and Mathematics, Jason worked in the United Kingdom for several years. On his return to Queensland and after spending time in the Army, Jason completed his Undergraduate Degree in Law. Before joining the Genuine Legal Team, Jason worked for a National Legal firm, Brisbane City Council, The Australian Defence Force and Education Queensland.

Prior to Genuine Legal, Bridget worked in a private law firm and real estate agency which allowed her to understand the importance of client interaction and gain skills in organisation and time management.

Jacob graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland. Before joining Genuine Legal, Jacob completed an internship at the Department of Justice and Attorney General, and previously worked in Uber's logistics and policy team at Uber's Brisbane Headquarters. Jacob is an avid chess player and enjoys playing futsal in his spare time.
